WiChorus Expands WiMAX Presence in Taiwan

California-headquartered WiChorus and Taiwanese WiMAX players, including III (Institute for Information Industry), Alpha Networks, and Tecom, have carried out successful interoperability testing for open mobile WiMAX solutions, according to Wireless Design and Development Asia. The testing showcases the interoperability enabled by an open R6 interface between these Taiwanese companies' WiMAX base station solutions and WiChorus's ASN (Access Service Node) Gateway solution.

In related news, WiChorus has been invited by Taiwan's MOEA (Ministry of Economic Affairs) to introduce the company's SmartCore Platforms at the 2008 WiMAX Expo, Taipei and WiMAX Forum Operator Summit, to be held from June 2 through June 6. WiChorus is expected to demonstrate the various features of its ASN Gateway and Home Agent product line. Also, WiChorus will unveil the results of said interoperability testing.
